The easiest way to update the theme, is to 1. Download the latest, 2.1 theme version from ThemeForest (Envato) download section. Choose "Installable WordPress file only" option on the Download button.
2. login into WordPress go to Appearance -> Themes -> Add New -> Upload. The new theme version will be installed.
To resolve this issue, you will need to update the theme to the latest version, so it will be compatible with your version of Wordpress. The only place to get the updated theme files is to download it from ThemeForest.
Envato manages all licensing and distribution of the themes on ThemeForest. We as an author are not allowed to distribute the theme through any other channel. It violates the author agreement, which allows us to sell our theme on ThemeForest.
