To hide the post author on a single page, you can use this CSS:

.single article .entry-meta > .author {
    display: none;
}

Just paste this in Theme Options -> Custom CSS.

The question is, why the code doesn't load? If you have caching enabled, please clear the cache. Also make sure you have saved the theme options after pasting the code. If none of this applies to your case, send me admin username and password (in a private reply), so I can check.

I modified the CSS a bit seems the ">" is not saving due to string escaping (security reasons). 

Final code looks like this: 

.single article .entry-meta > .author {
    display: none;
}

}

This hides it not only on single article, but also on the blog page.
